Welcome to the Bryant Room Blog!
Our primary goal with this blog is to help make the Bryant Library’s Local History Collection as accessible as possible to all researchers, patrons, and history lovers. Roslyn’s deep roots in Long Island local history is truly reflected in the sheer volume of the Collection.
Established in June of 1953, the Local History Collection is a repository for all historical material pertaining to Roslyn, NY and its surrounding villages. Housed in the
Bryant Room, (a space that is accessed by a staircase located to the right of the library reference desk) the Collection provides researchers with a storehouse of multimedia resources including documents, news clips, photos, oral histories, videos, and rare artifacts.
If you plan to visit the Bryant Library, we encourage you to come up to the Bryant Room to check out the Local History Collection and learn more about Roslyn’s fascinating past.
